Artwork Guidelines

At Creative Art Projects we take pride in reproducing your student’s creativity. To help your students make their project be the best it can be please follow these guidelines. If you require reproduction of artwork outside of these guidelines please contact our customer support team to discuss your needs.

  • All artwork must be designed A4 (297mm x 210mm) in size. In the case of Magnet projects please use our templates.
  • The artwork must have the student’s name (Preferably First and Last Names) clearly on the FRONT of the artwork. The name should be clear and legible. It should also be written in the direction the card is to be produced. (Portrait or Landscape) We advise to write the name at least 5mm away from each edge of the card on the bottom right hand corner.
  • All colours will be reproduced including the colour of the paper. Strong bold vibrant colours work best.
  • Everything that is visible on the artwork will appear on final project. (eg. Staples, anything on the reverse showing through, crinkles, smudges etc.)
  • Please ensure pastel or charcoal drawings have been fixed with fixative or hairspray- this will ensure the artwork and printing equipment is not damaged.
  • Please ensure all artwork is fixed/glued firmly together.
  • Please do not place any artwork into plastic wallets.

PHOTO PROJECTS

If you would like to have a photo printed and transformed into one of our projects please ensure;

  • Digital camera images are at print quality resolution (eg min 220dpi).
  • Save the file name as the STUDENTS full name (First and Last names)
  • Please place an underscore (_) between first and last names. (ex. john_smith.jpg)
  • Photo artwork should be included on the class purchase forms. They can be sent via email or on CD. CD’s will be returned.

WHAT WORKS

The following reproduces extremely well

  • Images /artwork covering the entire area of A4 paper
  • Bold colours
  • Bright colours

WHAT to avoid

The following will not reproduce well or at all.

  • Anything faint, including pencil, crayon lines and shading.
  • Metallic, fluorescent or neon colours
  • Glitter does not reproduce and can damage other artwork
  • Borders drawn to the edge of the page. Due to scanning procedures, we advise any borders be placed 5mm from edges.

ARTWORK REQUIRING SPECIAL HANDLING

To enable us to provide you with the quality professional finished product we utilise the latest scanning and digital technologies. In order for your students artwork to be produced at the rates shown please be mindful artwork containing the following may attract a manual handling fee.

  • Glitter
  • Sequins and beading
  • Bulky collages
  • Loose collages
  • Artwork in plastic sleeves
  • Charcoal & pastel drawings not properly fixed
  • Heavy and/or flaky crayon and pastel
  • Thick card
  • Artwork larger than A4 in original size

Artwork containing the above can be reproduced and with stunning results. Please contact our customer service team for advice on how to create and package unique artwork. All artwork will be RETURNED.
